Kids Valentine Hat

Here is a colorful hat that you can make to wear on Valentine's Day.

Materials Required:

1) Red construction paper
2) Red chenille stems
3) Wire cutters
4) Pen
5) Scissors
6) Glue
7) White poster board
8) Ruler
9) Stapler/tape/glue (to fasten hat together)

Method:

1) Cut out 2 big heart shapes (dimensions: 1 1/2" tall x 1 3/4" wide) and 2 small heart shapes (dimensions: 1" tall x 1" wide) out of red construction paper.
2) Cut a band (about 2" wide) out of the white poster board. Try the band on and see whether it fits around your little head. Mark with pen the sides of your head (or of the wearer of the hat).
3) Using the wire cutters, cut the red chenille stems in half.
4) Glue the stems on the outer surface of the poster board band that you have marked.
5) Glue a small heart shape over each of the chenille stems that are attached to the poster board. Glue a big heart shape at the other end of the chenille stem.
6) Colour the Valentine Hat with markers and crayons. Decorate it with laces and stickers.
7) Tape, glue or staple the hat to fit the child. You can also use paper clips.
