Yashoda Ties Krishna - Mischief, Miracle & Divine Leela
Introduction:
Baby Krishna's playful mischief left Yashoda exasperated until she resorted to tying him to a mortar. But the story that followed became a wondrous demonstration of divine power, compassion, and deliverance.
Mischief in the Courtyard
Little Krishna, ever full of playful energy, stole butter and scampered around the house, making it impossible for Yashoda to keep up with her chores. One day, catching him red-handed, she resolved to stop his pranks once and for all.
Yashoda’s Clever Plan
Yashoda grabbed a rope and tried to tie Krishna to a tree but the rope was too short. Resourceful, she instead tied him to a large mortar, hoping its weight would keep him still.
Divine Strength Unleashed
But Krishna, full of divine play, pulled the mortar behind him. He maneuvered through two closely rooted trees, and the pressure from the heavy mortar caused the trees to crack and fall.
Miracle of Liberation
To everyone’s astonishment, the fallen trees transformed into Nalakuvara and Manigriva—sons of Kubera—liberated from their curse by Krishna’s innocent strength. They paid homage to the divine boy and returned to their celestial abode.
What This Story Teaches Us
Even the smallest beings can hold boundless divine power. Krishna’s seemingly ordinary play became a miracle of liberation and love. For children, it’s a reminder: respect, wonder, and kindness reveal deeper truths, often in the most playful moments.
